Chris Simon

Christopher Simon was raised in London, emigrated to the United States, where he served in the U.S. Army, and then studied for four years at the Art Student’s League in New York City.

His teachers at the League were Reginald Marsh and Frank Reilly who taught painting and drawing. He also studied design and calligraphy with Arnold Bank. Following his education, he was a designer and illustrator in the New York publishing field for 57 years.

A member of the Society of Illustrators for a number of years, he also worked for nearly every publisher in New York City.

Drawing on his extensive knowledge of illustration and design, especially of the Art Nouveau period, he is entering the field of entrepreneurship and attempting to revive historical design and ornamentation and apply it to everyday objects such as tote bags, T-shirts and greeting cards.
